ABOUT
Emseni Community Project was established in October 1997, after an extensive research at the University of Copenhagen on Comparative Studies by the founder Dr Thandi Legwale, with the intent to improve the lives of the underprivileged people in Soweto through skills development training. High unemployment, lack of skills, illiteracy, and low self-esteem are some of the challenges that we have observed within the community. We always strive for excellence in skills training and education, as this is our core function. We have built a reading and writing clinic to compare learning barriers and improve learning environments as well as created short courses (Strategies and Methodologies, Hospitality and Project Design) that are SACE (15 points) endorsed and SETA (Nqf level 5) accredited. Our desire for all the learners we train is self-sustenance. We are a registered non-profit organization providing educational services through various learning and skills programs. The scope of our focus is in marginalized and previously disadvantaged societies in South Africa.
Services
Reading and Writing Clinic
The Reading and Writing clinic offers specialized programs to assist learners of all ages in mastering the art of reading and writing. The initiative began after Dr Thandi Legwale observed in her thirty year teaching career where learners had a serious challenges in reading, writing, speaking, Numeracy and Natural Science in foundation phase, intersin and senior. Our focus with this program is to make each learner a success in all aspects of their schooling career. ECP is here to discover their talents and mental capacities so that we ensure that relevant mentoring is given. We are covering the following subjects: English, Mathematics ,Natural Science and Life Skills. Dr Legwale also offers services of redesigning classrooms and curating learning programmes for schools
Hospitality and Catering
Dive into the world of hospitality with our course, which includes modules on housekeeping management, revenue management, and hospitality marketing. Join our hospitality course to learn about the art of hospitality, including banquet management and ethical practices in the industry.
Project Design
The Project Design short course is a comprehensive program that covers the fundamentals of project design, including planning, execution, and evaluation. The course is a 2 day programme (with additional day for presentation) that covers topics such as risk assessment and mitigation techniques, communication skills, effective planning and execution strategies.Our project design short course offers innovative and creative solutions tailored to your specific requirements.
Strategies and Methodologies
This course offers in-depth insights into effective strategies and methodologies that can be applied to improve outcomes in diverse settings in all classrooms.
